Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan Hulk Hogan (full name Terry Gene Bollea) was born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia. He was brought up in Tampa, Florida. He began practising wrestling and also had a 10-year career as a bass guitarist in local bands. While studying at the University of South Florida, he took up wrestling professionally.

His first professional wrestling match was against Brian Blair in 1977 and he teamed up with Brutus Beefcake. At that time, he took the name of Terry "The Hulk" Boulder. After winning his first championship in 1979, Hulk Hogan entered the WWWF in 1980.
As part of the American Wrestling Association (AWA), Hulk Hogan's name spread wide and he got a small role in the movie Rocky III (1982). In the meantime, he got i nvolved in a bad fight with Nick Bockwinkel, a champion of AWA. He also earned fame in Japan and grabbed the International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP) title in June 1983.

Hulk Hogan got married in December 18, 1983, to Linda.
Hulk Hogan was selected to represent WWF after it was bought by Vince McMahon. After defeating Bill Dixon in late 1983, Hulk Hogan won the WWF for the first time in 1984. He got a number of magazine appearances in 1985 including Sports Illustrated, People and TV Guide. He was also seen in Rock 'n' Wrestling.

For the next four years, Hulk Hogan retained the WWF title till 1987 when he defeated Andre the Giant. But the next year, he lost to the Giant. In 1988, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage claimed back the title. His first child, Brooke Hogan, was born in May, 1988.

Hulk Hogan formed an alliance, The Mega Powers, with Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth. They won over Andre the Giant's alliance, The Mega Bucks. But, The Mega Powers soon lost their alliance and Hulk Hogan defeated Randy Savage during a match in 1989. At that time, Wrestlemania V was going on.

In June, 1989, he was seen in the movie No Holds Barred and the following month, his second child, Nick, was born. In 1990 and 1991, he won the Royal Rumble, but was defeated in WrestleMania VI in April, 1990.
Next year, he won WrestleMania VII but lost the WWF championship. During WrestleMania VIII, Hulk Hogan began to think of retiring from the professional wrestling scene. In 1993, he was back in WWF with Money Inc but lost to The Mega Maniacs. The same day, he won the fifth WWF title in a row. He appeared for the last time in WWF that year and was also seen in the movie Mr. Nanny.

After accepting publicly that he had been taking steroids, Hulk Hogan remained away from public for a few days. In 1994, he joined the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and claimed the belt in 1995. Following a feud with WCW, he changed his name to Hollywood Hogan and created a new team under the name of New World Oder (nWo). He won the WCW for the second time in 1996 and reclaimed it in 1997 after losing to Lex Lugar. During these two years, he acted in a number of movies including Santa With Muscles, The Secret Agent Club and The Ultimate Weapon.

He won his fourth and fifth WCW Championship in 1998 and 1999 respectively. After a feud with Vince Russo, Hulk Hogan went away from pro wrestling for some years. During this time, he also worked as the spokesperson for a video game named Legends of Wrestling. He came back to the wrestling scene by fighting The Rock. After WrestleMania X8, he made friends with The Rock and earned the 6th WWE title at Backlash 2002. Though that was his last WWF title, he teamed with The Edge and won the WWE Tag Team Championship. He also had moderate success WrestleMania XIX.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and also appeared on RAW in an episode that year. He also won two challenges that year. Hulk Hogan also entered the reality show Hogan Knows Best in 2005.
In 2007, his son suffered a terrible accident and his wife appealed for divorce.

After all these, Hulk Hogan began presenting the show American Gladiators and appeared in the movie Little Hercules in 3-D in 2008. He hit the headlines when he discussed the facts about his divorce with a Los Angeles based media.
