Helen Ward was born on September 19, 1916 in New York City, USA and she was a famous American singer of swing music. She learned music basically from her father, he taught her piano and after that she started radio broadcasts with WOR and WNYC.
She started her career by singing in Benny Goodman's first band and then she became one of the first popular swing "girl singers".
She died on April 21, 1999 in Arlington, Virginia, United States. She married Albert Marx in 1937.
