She studied at the St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio and started playing football for the team. Since 2001 she played football at the Philadelphia Charge, which is a team in the Women's United Soccer Association.
In 1999 she started playing for her national team, United States and in 62 matches she scored twice. She won the gold medal at the U.S. Olympic for the United States.
Besides being a football player she works as a reporter for ESPN2 and ABC's coverage of Major League Soccer and is a columnist for ESPN Soccernet. In 2004 she was chosen as "Hottest Female Athlete" by the users of E

Between 2002 and 2007 she had a romantic relationship with Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins quarterback, A.J. Feeley. Now (2007) she is involved in a relationship with tennis player James Blake.
