Hayley Westenra (full name Hayley Dee Westenra) was born on April 10,1987 in Christchurch, New Zealand. She is a young soprano.
Biography and Career :
Her parents are Jill and Gerald Westenra. Besides her they have one daughter and one son, Sophie and Isaac. In 1994 she appeared in The Littlest Star, a school show. Until 1998 she had already performed in concerts, appeared on television shows and more than 40 stage productions. She appeared and performed for important persons like Queen of England, President Bush and Tony Blair.
In 2004 she sang in an episode of "American Dreams", a Hit Televison Series. After one year she and Heather Small had a duet, ''Chattanooga choo choo'', at the 60th anniversary of VE Day.
Also that year she sang at the HC Andersen jubilee in Cope
nhagen, Denmark the official UNICEF song "Children First ". In 2000 she recorded a demo album and her first album in New Zeeland came in 2001.
As an international artist she released her first album in 2003, called "Pure". She is a great artist and until now (2007) she came with another four albums. Her songs were used as soundtracks in movies and she landed her voice for a character in "Mulan II".
She likes helping others and was the ambassador for Save the Children in Hong Kong and also participates at many charity actions.
