Hannah Spearritt was born on 1 April 1981. She is an English actress and former singer. She was previously a member of the successful pop group S Club 7 and is engaged to her Primeval co star Andrew Lee Potts as of December 2008.
She was born in Great Yarmouth, the youngest of three children and is the younger sister of former model and fashion designer Tanya Spearritt, and Stuart Spearritt. Her uncle, Eddie Spearritt, from Lowestoft was a professional football player.
In December 2008 while Hannah was acting for the ITV series Primeval one of her fellow actors Andrew-Lee Potts proposed to her. The pair is currently engaged and will be married in
2011 after finishing primeval series 5.
At the age of 3, Spearritt modeled in a Mothercare catalogue. When she was 12, she landed a part in the Great Yarmouth Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society's production of Annie. Thereafter she successfully auditioned for the National Youth Music Theatre, and became part of the company.
While with the NYMT she met future S Club member and boyfriend Paul Cattermole as well her friend and future flat mate, actress Sheridan Smith.
In 1998 she got a part in the television film The Cater Street Hangman, playing the part of a maid who gets murdered.
She had also made appearances on the National Lottery Show and Blue Peter. While she was studying mathematics, performing arts and media studies at college in Great Yarmouth, she auditioned for S Club 7 after seeing an advert in a magazine.
S Club 7 had a brief but successful career in pop music; scoring hits with songs such as bring it All Back from their first album and a Brit award for Best Newcomer. They continued to please the public with singles such as Reach, Natural, and Don' Stop Movin.
In late 2006, she began filming for ITV1 for a guest part in Agatha Christie's Marple television mystery series. The episode, entitled At Bertram's Hotel, was broadcast on 23 September 2007.
