Gwyneth Paltrow was born on September 27, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, U.S.
Paltrow is the daughter of Blythe Danner and Bruce Paltrow, who is a television director and producer.
She was raised in Santa Monica and attended Crossroads School before moving and enrolling in The Spence School, which is a private girls’ school in New York City. Before acting, she briefly studied art history at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Paltrow made her film debut in 1991 with “Shout”, a movie starring John Travolta, and then she appeared in “Hook”, a movie from the same year. Later on she was cast in a supporting role in Se7en (1995) alongside Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, he earned a Satellite Award nomination for her performance. The movie was successful commercially
and critically.
In the year of 1999, Paltrow co-starred in “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, and received positive reviews. She showcased her singing ability co-starring singer Huey Lewis in 2000's Duets, which was directed by her father. Paltrow then co-starred with Ben Affleck in the romantic drama Bounce as Abby Janell.
In 2008, she appeared in Iron Man as Pepper Potts and later on in 2010, she reprised her role in the sequel Iron Man 2.
As for her personal life, she is a Save the Children artist ambassador, raising awareness about World Pneumonia Day. She is on the board of the Robin Hood Foundation, a charitable organization that works to alleviate poverty in New York City. Paltrow practices yoga daily, works out regularly with her personal trainer Tracy Anderson, and used to follow a macrobiotic diet until the birth of her children.
