Guy Ritchie (full name Guy Stuart Ritchie) was born on September 10, 1968, in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England. He suffered from dyslexia at an early age and left school when he was 15 and worked at a studio for a short time. This gave him his first experience of movies.
His debut as a director came with the movie, The Hard Case (1995). He also wrote the script of the 20 minutes movie. After that, he directed his first full length movie “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” (1998). The first was a commercial success and also received a number of awards including Best New Filmmaker from the MTV Movie Awards.
During this time he met pop diva Madonna and they married on December 22, 2000. That year, the movie, Snatch, was released, directed by Guy Ritchie. After the success of Snatch, h
e worked on the short film, Star, and then in Swept Away. However, they received horrible responses with Guy Ritchie being marked as the Worst Director by the Razzie Awards.
The promising movie Revolver (2005) didn’t prove to successful enough. In 2008, he and Madonna adopted their first son David.
He also directed that movie RocknRolla and all the expectations of his career depended on it. However, in October 2008, Guy Ritchie announced his divorce with Madonna.
