Gregory Peck (Eldred Gregory Peck) was born on Wednesday, April 05, 1916 in La Jolla, California. He was one of the most famous actors after the second world war.

His parents divorced when he was only 6 years old and he had to move with his grandmother. Gregory worked as a truck driver before attending classes at Berkeley, the place where he first started to act.

He later moved to New York where, although studied medicine, he subscribed to some acting classes. In the first 5 years of his activity as an actor, Peck managed to receive 4 Oscar nominations as best actor but the much craved prize came only in 1962.

After his first real success many more followed and he continued so for many years.
