Gloria Steinem (born in 1934) was an American journalist and liberal feminist who emerged as a leading figure in the US women's movement in the late 1960s.

She was also involved in radical protest campaigns against racism and the Vietnam War.
She co-founded the Women's Action Alliance in 1970 and Ms. magazine. In 1983 a collection of her best-known articles was published as Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions.
