Biography and Career
Gloria Reuben was born in Toronto. She is the daughter of a classical singer mother and an architect father. Her father is white and both her father and her mother are Jamaican.
Reuben has a brother named Denis Simpson who is also an actor and children's television host. Gloria in her childhood began learning piano. Later she studied music technique and theory, ballet and jazz at the Canadian Royal Conservatory.
Gloria Reuben started her career as an actress was initially started with a few jobs as model and TV ad appearances. Reuben is known for her role on the American television series ER as Jeanie Boulet, a physician assistant in the hospital inf
ected with HIV.
She was a guest star throughout Season 1 on ER and was elevated to full-time cast member at the beginning of Season 2. She continued that role until early Season 6, when she left the show.
In 2008, Reuben returned to ER for one episode during its 14th season. She has stated that this role led her to her HIV/AIDS activism. Gloria was also starred as Rosalind Whitman in the TNT series Raising the Bar.
In 1996 she was chosen by People as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. In 2000, she sang back up for Tina Turner on her Twenty Four Seven Tour.
Gloria has been a part of numerous films and Television series and that includes: Happy Here and Now released in 2002, in the same year she was appeared in Salem Witch, then in Trials and Little John.
In 2000, she was featured in Shaft and Bad Faith. In 1999, she worked in Pilgrim and in Deep in My Heart. In 2001, she was a part of, The Feast of All. Saints.
