
Georgie Thompson (full name Georgina Thompson) was born on September 25, 1977, in Hertfordshire, England.
Biography and Career:
She was fond of sports and played in junior international tennis championships while she was in school. She is a graduate in Broadcast Journalism from the University of
Leeds.
After graduating, she moved to London. There she worked as production assistant and researcher for shows like Newshour, GMTV Today and Lorrain. One of her programme of 2000 reached the Cannes Film Festival.
Her career began in full swing when she was appointed as a trainee host by Sky Sports News in January, 2001. There she hosted “Afternoon Report” and “Evening Update”. Apart from this, she hosted sporting
events like the Grand Prix Masters and the Race of the Champions. She has also interviewed many famous athletes.
Till date, she has hosted A1 Grand Prix shows, as well as, US Open, GP Masters and ATP Masters Series. She co-hosted the show “Greatest Sporting Legends” with Sir David Frost and Des Lynam in 2006.
