His parents' names are George Walton Lucas, Sr. and Dorothy Ellinore Bomberger Lucas. He studied at the USC's school of cinema and graduated in 1982.
The epic Star Wars saga and Indiana Jones films made him a famous person in the movie industry. Now (2007) he is an independent director and producer with a big fortune. He donates money every year to charity organizations and he even has his own foundation called The George Lucas Educational Foundation, which was founded in 1991

On February 22, 1969 he married Marcia Lucas. They divorced in 1983. He had adopted three children: Amanda Lucas who was born in 1981, Katie Lucas who was born in 1988 and Jett Lucas who was born in 1993. Linda Ronstadt and he had a long term relationship.
