George Crabbe

George Crabbe George Crabbe (1754-1832) was a English poet.

Short Biography:

Originally a doctor, he became a clergyman in 1781, and wrote grimly realistic verse of the poor of his own time: The Village in 1783, The Parish Register in 1807, The Borough in 1810 (which includes the story used in the Britten opera Peter Grimes), and Tales of the Hall in 1819.
