Gabriel's first film was Going Ape! in 1981, and other film roles include The Karate Kid Part III, Apollo 13, Last Days, and Dry Cycle. Jarret has made guest appearances in 21 Jump Street, L.A. Law, Party of Five, and The West Wing.
Jarret played the role of 1st Officer Chapman in the 2006 remake of The Poseidon Adventure, Poseidon. He acted in the Ron Howard film Frost/Nixon as Nixon speechwriter Ken Khachigian.
