Florin Raducioiu (full name Florin Valeriu Radu Raducioiu) was born on November 17, 1970 in Bucharest and is one of the best Romanian strikers ever.
Biography and Career :
Raducioiu started to play professional football in his city Bucharest at Dinamo under supervision of probably the best Romanian coach ever Mircea Lucescu.
He debuted in the first team at the age of 17 years and after 2 seasons although he was very young he succeed to win a place in the first eleven.
In season 1988-1989 his career exploded and played with Dinamo in the quarters final of Cup Winners Cup where was eliminated by Sampdoria after 1-1 at Bucharest and 0-0 in Italy. In the same season in Romanian championship Dinamo was vice-champion.
In 1989-1990 won the title of champion and the Romanian
cup and in Europe played in semifinals of Cup Winners Cup and was defeated by Anderlecht. After this season Raducioiu was considered the best young player. After 5 seasons in Romania where he played in 76 games and scored 29 times, in 1990 he was transferred in Italy at AC Bari.
He played for Bari 1 year and scored 5 goals and after that season was transferred by Verona where played another one season.
In 1992 Brescia with Lucescu as coach and Hagi as player transferred Raducioiu. Here played in 29 games and scored 14 times. Milan transferred him but he didn't play very much for his new team.
He went in Spain and had another 2 good seasons with Espanyol Barcelona and scored 14 goals. After European Championship in 1996 his career started to go down and played for West Ham United (1996-1997) VfB Stuttgart (1997-1998) again for Espanyol, Brescia and in 2000 came back in Romania at Dinamo.
He didn't play very much for Dinamo and after a year went to France at AS Monaco. He is the only player that played in all 5 top European championships: Italy, Spain, England, Germany and France.
For Romanian national team played in 40 games and scored 21 times. His first game was against Israel on the 25th of April 1990 ended 4-1 for Romania. He played in Italy at World Cup in 3 games and scored no goal. After 4 years in United States Raducioiu scored 4 times 2 goals against Colombia and 2 against Sweden.
Romania finished on 5th place after this World cup and was very close to play a semifinal with Brasil, the world champion in 1994.
In 1996 in England at European Championship Raducioiu scored the only Romania's goal.
