Florin Prunea was born on August 8, 1968 in Bucharest, Romania. He is ex-goalkeeper and now is a member of Romanian Football Federation.

Biography and Career :

He started playing professional football for Dinamo Bucharest in 1985 and his first game in Liga 1(the first Romanian league) was on the 31th of May 1986 against Sportul Studentesc when was defeated 5 times.

Between 1985-1988 he was the substitute goalkeeper at Dinamo and played only in 4 games and that’s why went to U Cluj where defended the goal for 3 seasons in 72 games. In 1991 he won the champion title and the Romanian Cup with Universitatea Craiova and played for his first time in Champion’s League Cup.

Between 1992-1998 was the goalkeepe r of Dinamo Bucharest and played in 160 games.

After he left Dinamo he signed a contract with Erzurumspor in Turkey, for Astra Ploiesti and again for Universitatea Craiova in Romania and for Litex Lovech in Bulgaria.

Florin Prunea came back to Dinamo in 200o and after a vice-champion title he won in the next season the champion title and the Romanian Cup. After this his career started to go down and played for FC Brasov, FCM Bacau in Romania and for Skoda Xanthi in Greece.

His best results were with Romanian national team where he was the goalkeeper for 30 games.

He participated with Romania at 2 world cups in 1994 in USA and in 1998 in France and at 2 European Championships in England in 1996 and in Belgium & Holland in 2000.

In 1994 Romania had a lot of important results and succeeded to defeat Argentina in 1/8 finals. In the quarters Prunea had been defeated in the last minutes by Kennet Anderson whom equalized and Romania was defeated at penalties.

Now Florin Prunea is a member of Romanian Football Federation near Ionut Lupescu another great football player from " The Golden Generation" how is called their generation.

Trivia :

- He finished his goalkeeper career in 2005 playng for FC National Bucharest.
- He debuted in a game against San Marino which ended 4-0.
