Ferdinand Lassalle Ferdinand Lassalle (1825-1864) was a German socialist.

Short Biography:

He was imprisoned for his part in the Revolution of 1848, during which he met Marx, and in 1863 founded the General Association of German Workers (later the Social-Democratic Party).

His publications include The Working Man's Programme (1862), and The Open Letter (1863). He was killed in a duel arising from a love affair.

Ferdinand Lassalle was a German philosopher, and socialist political activist.
