Fanny Lu (full name Fanny Lucia Martinez Buenaventura) was born in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, the busy city of South America.
Biography and Career :
She was an outstanding student and went to Bolivar High School. She finished her primary education after moving to France. Fanny enjoyed being abroad, yet she wished to go back to her hometown. She came back to South America to study industrial engineering at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota.
In spite of the load of her programs, Fanny still found time to do different creative works. In 1994, she started hosting a well-liked TV show, La Locomotora. This experience helped her to come in touch with many musicians and performers, which finally ensured her future in show business.
Maximum of Fanny Lu's connection grew
in 2005, when she got an offer to release her new album from Universal Latino. She worked with the top Latino musicians Egidio Cuadrado, Jhon Lozano, Tobby Tobon, Andres Castro, Teddy Mullet, and Richard Bravo (a percussionist who has worked with Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin). Final result was her album Lagrimas Calidas (Warm Tears) released on 14th November 2006. The album came in public attention right away after its release and topped the Columbian charts for 5 weeks. Two most popular songs from her album were "No te Pido Flores" (I'm not asking for Flowers) and "Y Si Te Digo"(And If I Tell You). Though Fanny Lu couldn't defeat Juan Luis Guerra, yet the nomination provided her with huge publicity.
The album turned Fanny Lu into a complete star and she got invitations from different cities like Los Angeles, Dallas, New York. In Washington, she was requested for performing in tribute to Columbian Independence Day. Fanny Lu was chosen for dubbing Beth's voice in the Spanish version of Open Season, a funny animated movie about a tamed grizzly bear and a mule deer.
