Famke Janssen (first name Famke Beumer) was born on November 5, 1965, in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands.
Biography and Career :
Famke Janssen lived in Amsterdam with her parents and her two sisters,Antoinette Beumer (Director) and Marjolein Beumer (Actress) until 1984, when she decided to move to New York City.
Famke Janssen speaks Dutch, English, French and German. Famke Janssen is 5' 11" tall and is the only brunette in a family of blondes. While best known for her poise and great physical beauty, Famke Janssen has a humorous trademark in Hollywood - her exceptionally large feet, as she had to have her shoes (size 11) specially made for her feet for GoldenEye.
Famke Janssen has been married to writer/director Tod Culpan Williams from 1995 to 2000, son of archite
ct Tod Williams.
Famke Janssen studied writing and literature at Columbia University and her favorite authors are the Bront� sisters, Vladimir Nabokov, and Jean Rhys.
When Famke Janssen moved to the United States in 1984 she began her professional career as a model and worked for Yves Saint Laurent. After studying stagecraft at Columbia University Famke Janssen moved to Los Angeles where she appeared in guest roles on TV series (such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and Melrose Place).
Her first film role was with Jeff Goldblum in Fathers & Sons (1992), later Famke Janssen appeared in the first Pierce Brosnan James Bond film, GoldenEye, making an impression on the cinema world as Xenia Onatopp.
Famke Janssen played the role of superheroine Jean Grey in X-Men, X2, and X-Men: The Last Stand. She also starred in the movies Lord of Illusions, Rounders, and Deep Rising.
Famke Janssen also had a prominent role in the second season of the popular TV show Nip/Tuck, as seductive and manipulative life coach Ava Moore.
