Faith No More is an band from San Francisco in the USA. They are an American alternative metal band. They came together as Faith No Man in the year 1981.
Career:
Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist Wade Worthington, frontman Michael Morris and drummer Mike Bordin were the official members of the band. A year after that when member Wade Worthington had his place taken by keyboardist Roddy Bottum. Also Mike Morris was kicked out and the group then began calling themselves Faith No More. After going through a series of performers who included Courtney Love and so on and so forth, the band was joined by Chuck Mosley in the year 1983. The same year, Jim Martin was brought on board to replace lead guitarist Mark Bowen.
The band is most widely known for combining elements of heavy
metal with alternative, hard rock, funk, progressive rock, hip hop, hardcore punk, grunge, thrash metal, jazz, avant-garde and easy listening (amongst many others). They are known to be one of the most influential rock bands of the late 80's and early 90's, often stated to have invented a style that would later develop into the mainstream alternative metal and nu metal movements.
Faith No More went through several line-up changes before coming out with their first album, “We Care a Lot”, in the year 1985. Within a year after that they joined up with Slash Records, and in the year 1987 their second album called “Introduce Yourself” was released by the troupe. The Band remained stable until vocalist Chuck Mosley gave way to Mike Patton in 1988. In 1989, the band released their highly successful album, The Real Thing, which featured their breakthrough hit single "Epic". Their subsequent album “Angel Dust” in the year 1992, was also very successful and gave their hit "Midlife Crisis". It became their single biggest hit on the Modern Rock Tracks charts. Faith No More after then declined in popularity in the years after that.
