Evangeline Lilly was born on August 3, 1979, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. She is a Canadian actress.
Evangeline attended three elementary schools, Fort Elementary, Rudolph Henning and James Mowat Elementary, before moving to Abbotsford, British Columbia. She completed her high school years at W. J. Mouat Secondary School, and went on to study international relations at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
As for her career, Lilly worked a variety of other jobs before starring on Lost (2004). Apparently she worked as waitress, flight attendant, and completed oil changes on big rigs. To sustain herself in university education, she did some modeling although she never considered herself a model. Lilly appeared on G4’s Judgment day, and had an uncredited role in t
he 2003 film Freddy vs. Jason, she also appeared as an extra in a few episodes of Smallville. Lilly’s first speaking role was on Lost.
Lilly had in 2004 a salary of $80.000 per episode for Lost. In the same year she was voted one of the Breakout Stars of 2004 by Entertainment Weekly. Two years after in 2006, Lilly was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Lead Actress-Drama.
As for her personal life, she was once married to Canadian hockey player Murray Hone. Since 2006 she dated Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan.
On December 20, 2006, her house in Kailua, Hawaii, was completely destroyed by fire while she was on the Lost set, it is believed that the cause of fire was an electrical problem.
