Eugenio Montale (1896-1981) pessimistic poetry, for which he was awarded a Nobel prize in 1975, includes Ossi di seppialCuttlefish Bones (1925) and Le Occasioni/Occasions (1939).
Short Biography:
In 1989 it was revealed that much of his literary journalism, such as his regular column in the Corriere delta Sera newspaper, was in fact written by an American, Henry Frost.
