She started her career as a model and worked for brands like McDonald's, Reebok, Sears, Kellog's, MCI and others. As the Noxzema "girl" she appeared in many magazines and became very popular.

She also started an acting career, playing in movies like "Simon Says", "Akeelah and the Bee", "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", "Save the Last Dance", "A Cinderella Story", "CSI: Miami" and "Everybody Hates Chris". One of her first roles was in the television series "ER" in 1997.
