Biography and Career :
Emmanuelle Chriqui was born in Montreal, Quebec on December 10, 1977 to Jewish Moroccan immigrants parents. Her mother comes from Casablanca and her father from Rabat, and Emmanuelle Chriqui has relatives in Israel. She comes from a family that practiced Orthodox Judaism in the Sephardic tradition.
Emmanuelle Chriqui has an older brother, Serge, and an older sister, Laurence. When she was almost two, her family moved to Toronto, Ontario. She grew up in Markham-Unionville, a suburb northeast of the city. Her
mother, who once told her she would become an actress died when she was really young.
Emmanuelle Chriqui started acting as a 10-year-old in a McDonald's commercial. She moved to Vancouver in the mid-1990s and started having roles in series such as "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", "Forever Knight"," Once a Thief", and "Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal". Her first Hollywood role was as a supporting character in "Detroit Rock City" in 1999.
Emmanuelle Chriqui later appeared in several movies such as "100 Girls", "Wrong Turn", "On the Line", and "In the Mix". She starred opposite Cameron Douglas in the movie National "Lampoon's Adam & Eve" and played the character of Eve. One of her more recent parts was in the film "You Don't Mess with the Zohan", where she played a Palestinian immigrant living in New York, who is Adam Sandler’s love interest.
She acted in the movie "Cadillac Records" in 2008 as Revett Chess, where she worked with Beyoncé Knowles. Emmanuelle Chriqui was seen in 2009 as one of several women whose lives interconnect in the comedy Women in Trouble and will appear in its sequel, Elektra Luxx, its release in 2010.
Emmanuelle Chriqui has joined Showtime's upcoming series, "The Borgias".
