She resides in Los Angeles, California and spends most of the year commuting back and forth between Oahu, Hawaii.Emilie has two older sisters and in her spare time she enjoys painting, shopping and exercising
Emilie de Ravin studied ballet since the age of nine, she was accepted into the highly selective Australian Ballet School at fifteen. There, Emilie de Ravin performed in productions with the Australian Ballet Company as well as Danceworld 301. Emilie de Ravin studied acting at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art, and with the Prime Time Actors Studio in Los Angeles.

r Josh Janowicz while they visited her family in Australia for the holidays.
Her first starring role was on the fantasy drama, Beastmaster. When her agent told her of a role in the US, as newcomer Tess in the hit series Roswell, Emilie de Ravin flew out and auditioned. After landing the role, Emilie de Ravin was written out of 'Beastmaster' and started work as Tess, an alien. Emilie de Ravin relocated to California and was on Roswell before she even owned an apartment.
After 2 years on the show, Emilie de Ravin then made notable guest appearances in CSI: Miami and The Handler.
Emilie de Ravin stayed in TV, playing the bad girl Chris in Carrie, a movie made for TV. She also changed genres, starring in Santa Slay, a black comedy.
Emilie de Ravin has shown her versatility by branching out into film, making her debut at Sundance 2005 with the the award-winning indie film Brick. Emilie de Ravin is also due to star in the upcoming film The Hills Have Eyes in 2006.
Emilie de Ravin is now on the Emmy-award winning ABC series Lost, playing Claire, a young Australian who gave birth on the mysterious island and has a close relationship with heroin-addict Charlie, played by Dominic Monaghan.
