Elizabeth the Queen Mother (1900-2002) was the Wife of King George VI of England.
Short Biography:
She was born Lady Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon, and on August 4, 1923, she married Albert, Duke of York. Their children are Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret.
She is the youngest daughter of the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (died in 1944), through whom she is descended from Robert Bruce, king of Scotland.
When her husband became King George VI in 1936 she became Queen Consort, and was crowned with him in 1937.
She adopted the tide Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother after his death.
