Elin Nordegren (full name Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren) was born on January 1, 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden. She used to be a model until she met her future husband, the famous Tiger Woods.
She grew up in a happy and wealthy family. While she and her sister were working as nannies for Jesper Parnevik, a Swedish golfer, she was introduced to Tiger Woods. The two
liked each other though they had first seen at the British Open in 2001. At the Presidents Cup tournament in South Africa in 2003, they decided to announce their engagement. He made her the proposal at the luxurious Shamwari Game Reserve.
On October 5, 2004 they made their relationship official in a wedding in Barbados. It was said that the wedding had cost him 1.5 million dollars. The couple will have their first child in the summer of 2007.
