Edyta Sliwinska was born on May 6, 1981. She began taking dancing lessons from the age of 11. In 2000, Edyta moved to San Francisco.
In San Francisco, Edyta Sliwinska grouped with Alec Mazo. The duo went on to win the Holiday Ball and the Emerald Ball Latin Championships. Edyta also worked at Genesis DanceSport studio as director and choreographer.

In 2005, she grouped with boxer Evander Holyfield and appeared on the first season of Dancing with the Stars. They finished fifth in that season. In 2006, Edyta reappeared on Dancing with the Stars with actor Hamilton and finished fifth again.
Again in 2006, Edyta Sliwinska entered the third season of Dancing with the Stars with actor Joey Lawrence. This time she earned a better spot and reached 3rd place by the end of the competition. Edyt a went on the live tour of Dancing with the Stars with Lawrence from for three months from December 2006.

In 2007, Edyta entered season 4 with actor Vincent Pastore. Later, Pastore was replaced by John Ratzenberger and the duo ended as No. 6. In the next season, Edyta teamed with actor Cameron Matheson and they finished fifth.
On September 1, 2007, Edyta Sliwinska married Alec Mazo. That year the DVD of Dancing with the Pros was released.

In May 2008, she became the runner up of the sixth season of Dancing with the Stars. Edyta’s partner in the sixth season was NFL player Jason Taylor. In September 2008, she entered the show with comedian Jeffrey Ross.
