Drew Carey (full name Drew Allison Carey) was born on May 23, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States of America. He is is an American comedian, actor, and game show host.
Biography and Career:
Drew was born to Lewis and Beulah Carey and has another two brothers. He spent his childhood in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. He studied and graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School and after he went to Kent State University from where he was expelled twice.
He followed a stand-up comedy career since 1985 and so he managed to perform in various clubs from Cleveland and Los Angeles. He appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1991, on the 14th Annual Young Comedians Special and also Late Night with David Letterman.
After he started have success
as a stand-up comedian, Drew also took up acting in television and on the big screen. He and Helford came up with the idea for "The Drew Carey Show", a comedy sitcom wich aired on ABC since 1995.
Drew is also a game show host and began doing it since 2007. His first game show was "Power of 10" and after he started hosting "The Price Is Right" after Bob Barker, the former host, retired.
