Dovima (birth name Dorothy Virginia Margaret Juba) was born on December 11, 1927 in New York City, USA. She was a famous supermodel.
Biography and Career :
She spent her childhood in Jackson Heights, Queens. In 1937 she got sick of rheumatic fever and had to stay in bed for one year. Because her mother was too protective she had to stay at home for 7 years. She didn't like very much that period of time because she was lonely. Dorothy invented a friend named 'Dovima' and started to paint. A Vogue editor discovered her while waiting for a friend outside of a Manhattan Automat. She went to a photo shoot right the next day at photographer Irving Penn. She became soon a supermodel. She received a cameo role in 'Funny Face' in 1957.
On May 3, 1990 unfortunately she died of liver cancer.
