Biography and Career :
Dorin Goian began his career playing for NC Foresta Suceava, the local soccer team. He made his first appearance in the First Romanian Division (Divizia A) in 2000, when he was 20 years old in a match versus Gloria Bistrita. It was a happy debut for the young center back, his team won the match with 2:0.
Foresta Suceava didn’t manage to keep up the good work, so at the end of the season relegated in the second division and never reached the first division again.
Despite the lamentable performances of his actual team Foresta that only managed to get the 10th place in the second division,
Dorin Goian was remarked by the officials of Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt a small team from the First Romanian Division and he was transferred here at the middle of the season.
After the season 2003-2004 Ceahlaul has the same faith as Foresta and relegates in the second division, but Dorin Goian is already one of the most hunted center back from the internal competition, so he sings a contract with another small team from the first division FCM Bacau.
After a great half of season with FCM Bacau(2004-2005), Goian manages to find a perfect shape to impress Steaua Bucharest’s officials. At the middle of the season Goian makes the jump to one of the most important teams in Romania and his dream begins to take shape.
Even though he only played 4 games this season for Steaua, Goian continued to fight for a place in the first 11 and starting with the next season (2005-2006) the young center back managed to win the trust of his coach and implicitly he became one of the irreplaceable players from the team.
Improving his performances from game to game, Goian makes it to National Team of Romania and he played his first game as a titular with Belarus, proving Victor Piturca that he took the right decision by sending him in the field from the first minut.
