Don Johnson was born on December 15, 1949. He is an American actor.
Don Johnson was born in Flat Creek, Missouri, on 15th December 1949. When he was 6, he moved to Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from South High School, Wichita in 1967. He was involved in the school's theater program. Later he went to the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.
He was a member of a rock band in the late 1960s. The band was named Horses. He was in the band with guitarist Bob Weir. They released their first song in 1969 on the White Whale Label later re-issued on the Gear Fab label in 2004 and then on the Rev-Ola label in 2005.He studied at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He studied drama.
He got his first major role in the stage drama Fortune and Men's Eyes. It was in Los Angeles in 1969. He continued to work on various on stage films and shows. He appeared in various films like Zachariah in 1971, The Harrad Experiment in 1973, A Boy and His Dog in 1975 and many more.
After years of struggling he established himself as a television actor and a string of failed pilots which were never followed by an actual TV series.
His fortunes changed in September 1984. He played the role of Sonny Crockett in the famous television cop series, Miami Vice. In between different seasons of Miami Vice, he gained more popularity by appearing in several television miniseries like the 1985 TV remake of The Long, Hot Summer.
Later he starred in the drama Nash Bridges with Cheech Marin, Jaime P. Gomez and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe. He starred in it from 1996 to 2001.
He also appeared in a WB courtroom television drama in 2005. The show was named Just Legal. In January 2007, he appeared in the London West End production of Guys and Dolls. He played the role of Nathan Detroit.
Johnson has had four different wives in five marriages, three of which were short.
