Although Dominic was born in Wallasey, he spent his childhood in Sydney, Australia. He studied at Blaxland High School and after finishing his studies Dominic worked as a landscaper.
His career started after graduating Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1996, with a role in a television series, "Raw FM". His first appearance on the American television was with a leading role in "John Doe" in 2002. On the big screen, Purcell started becoming more and more famous after playing in "Blade: Trinity" but thi
s was not his best act. His most famous role until now is as Lincoln Burrows in "Prison Break", a very successful television series.
