Ding Ling (1904-1986) was a Chinese novelist. Short Biography:
Her works include "Wei Hu" in 1930 and "The Sun Shines over the Sanggan River" in 1951.
She was imprisoned by the Guomindang (Chiang Kai-Shek's Nationalists) in the 1930s, wrongly labelled as rightist and expelled from the Communist Party in 1957, imprisoned in the 1960s and intellectually exiled for not keeping to Maoist literary rules; she was rehabilitated in 1979. Her husband was the writer Hu Yapin, executed by Chiang Kai-Shek's police in 1931.
