Dexter was born on November 25, 1969. He Became a pro bodybuilder at the 1992 NPC Southern States Championships, when he was offered the 3rd overall place. Though, that was enough for him to obtain a pro card. Yet, even though he became pro when he was 23 years old, his pro debut was quite late, in 2000 at the Night Of Champions, where he won the 3rd place.
Dexter Jackson has been competing in bodybuilding for more than 20 years. During these years, he went for mo
re than 55 pro bodybuilding contests, fact that makes out of him, among Kevin Levrone, one of the most prolific bodybuilders ever. For example, he went at Arnold Classic – he won 3 editions - , Australian Grand Prix VIII, New Zealand Grand Prix, Ironman Pro Invitational and different Grand Prix Contests from different parts of the Earth
As concerning the most important pro bodybuilding show, Mr. Olympia, Dexter has also competed here. In 2007, he was given only the 3rd place, and most of the people said that his career was going down. Right in the next year, Dexter came in a phenomenal shape and won the supreme title, fact that was like a punch in the face for most of his critics. In 2011, he has announced that he will only compete at Mr. Olympia – in order to catch his best shape-, but in order to not disappoint his fans, he will still do some guest appearances all over the US and Europe. And if everything goes well, Dexter assumes that on September 16, he will be crowned again with the Mr. Olympia title.
