Devon Sawa was born in Van Couver, British Columbia. He is the son of Joyce and Edward Sawa. His father was a refrigerator mechanic and his mother a homemaker. His father is Polish.
Devon Sawa started his career at a young age when he was only 14. In his first job he appeared as a children's action toy spokesperson. After his first job his acting career rapidly developed throughout the 1990s. He appeared in many films and got lead roles in some of his movies. He appeared in films like Little Giants in 1994, in Casper in 1995, in Now and Then in 1995, in Robin of Locksley in 1996, in Night of the Twisters in 1996, The Boys Club in
1997, A Cool Dry Place in 1999, Around the Fire in 1999, Idle Hands in 1999, Final Destination in 2000 and many more.
He also appeared in a music video for famous singer Eminem. He played the role of Stan in his video alongside Dido who played the role of his girlfriend in the video.
He has continued to work steadily on independent films in recent years like Extreme Dating, Shooting Gallery, Devil's Den, Creature Of Darkness and Endure.
He has also won a few awards. He was nominated in Saturn Awards in 2000
for the Best Performance by a Younger Actor for his performance Idle Hands in 1999. He won the Saturn Award for the Best Performance by a Younger Actor in 2001 for his appearance in Final Destination. He was also nominated for a Young Artist Award in 1997 and for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award in 2001 for his roles in various movies.
