Dennis Rodman was born on May 13, 1961. He is an American basketball player.
Dennis Rodman was born in Trenton, New Jersey. He lived with his mother and two elder sisters until his mother sent him to a nursery when he was just 4. He went to South Oak Cliff High School. He was not considered an athletic standout so could not make to any football or basketball teams. He worked as a janitor at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport. He had to leave college due to poor academic performances but was good at basketball.
He went to Southeastern Oklahoma State University at NAIA school. There he led the NAIA in rebounding in from the 1984 to 1986 seasons. He worked at a summer youth basketball camp. He
became friends with Byrne Rich and went back to Oklahoma. He wasn't welcomed but he lived with them as he brought the Rich's son back to them.
He made himself eligible for the NBA draft. He was picked up by the Detroit Pistons as their 27th member. With Rodman the Pistons won 52 games and qualified for the 1987 NBA playoffs. Rodman met Anicka Bakes and married her in 1989. They had a daughter but divorced in 1993. This experience had a bad affect for him and he tried to commit suicide. He played for the Pistons in the 1987 and 1988 season. The Pistons got to the NBA finals in 1998 but couldn't get the title. The team won the 1989 and 1990 NBA finals with him.
He became the small forward player in the team and provided a lot of defense. He married his previous wife again in 1992 but it didn't work out again. His team missed the 1993 NBA playoffs and then he transferred to another team. He started playing for San Anatio Spurs and then moved to Chicago Bulls in the 1995 season. In the 1998 season he joined the Los Angeles Lakers with the help of her sister who acted as an agent. He played for the Dallas Mavericks in 1999 and 2000 and retired from the game.
