Debra Messing was born on August 15, 1968. She is an American actress.
Debra Messing was born in Brooklyn, New York. She is the daughter of Sandra and Brian Messing. Her ancestors are basically from Russia and Poland. When she was only three years old her family moved to East Greenwich. She studied at East Greenwich High School. She went to Brandeis University in Massachusetts. She graduated from university in 1990 with a degree of theater arts. After university she went to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for a Graduate Acting program. She graduated after three years with a master's degree in fine arts.
She met Daniel Zelman in university in 1990 and they got married in 2000. They h
ave a son named Roman.
Messing appeared in the play Angels in America and gained a lot of support. Soon after the play she got a role in the television series NYPD Blue in 1994 and 1995. She starred in her first film in 1995. The film was named a Walk In The Clouds. After the movie she was made a co-star in the television series Ned and Stacey from 1995 to 1997 till the series end. She also appeared in two episodes of the television series Seinfeld in 1996 and 1997. She got popularity and was contacted by various producers but turned down their requests. Messing played a lead role in the television series Prey on ABC Channel and her agent called her to play a role in the television series Will and Grace. She auditioned for it and got the job. The series were a success and made Messing very popular. She played a few more roles in many other films. Messing got her first leading role in a proper leading film in 2005. The movie was named The Wedding Date.
She starred in other television series in 2008 and in an untitled comedy in 2009 which was bought by the NBC Channel for primetime in 2009 and 2010 season.
