Dayanara Torres (full name Dayanara Torres Delgado) was born on October 28, 1974 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is the winner of the Miss Universe title in 1993 also model, actress and singer.
Biography and Career :
She attended Colegio Santa Rosa in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. The opportunity came to her when she was offered the chance to represent Toa Alta in the annual Miss Puerto Rico Pageant.
She appeared at Miss Universe 1993 and she was the lucky winner. Thus, she was an ambassador of UNICEF. This included travels to Asia and Latin America where she helped a lot of people.
The Dayanara Torres Foundation offers scholarships to poor students in Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
Her acting career started after a while and she became a star. After living in Philippines fo
r 5 years she returned to Puerto Rico and released an album, called 'Antifaz'. In 1995 she received the Best New TV Personality Award from Philippines Press Club.
On May 9, 2000 she got married to Marc Anthony, a famous singer, but their marriage lasted until the 1st of June, 2004. After that, she continued her careers as actress and television personality.
