Dawn Wells was born on October 18, 1938. She is an America actress.
Dawn Wells was born in Reno, Navada. She studied at Stephens College in Missouri and graduated with a major in Chemistry. Later she went to the University of Washington in Seattle. She graduated in 1960 with a degree in theater and arts. She won the Miss Nevada award in 1959 and represented her state in 1960.
Wells moved to Hollywood and appeared in small roles in television series like 77 Sunset Strip and Maverick on the ABC Channel. She also took the role of Mary Ann in Gilligan's Island for which she gained a lot of popularity. She did many more television series and movies. She also played the role of Native American chief
in the movie Winterhawk in 1975.
After her popularity with starring in Gilligan's Island she starred in many television series and also started working in theater. She worked in a lot of theater productions in 1970s and 1980s and in fact spent most time in theater productions and travelling. She also performed solo at the MGM Grand in 1975. She still appears in some theater productions.
In the 1990s she became a spokesperson for various companies like Coco Cola, Western Union, Long John Silver's and many more. In 1993 she also wrote and released a cook book using her famous name Mary Ann she used in the Gilligan's Island series.
She married Larry Rosen in 1962 but stayed together only till 1967. She moved to eastern Idaho in the 1990s where she still runs a company. Wells is also the founder of Idaho Film and Television Institute.
