David Tennant was born on April 18, 1971. He is a Scottish actor.
David Tennant was born in West Lothian on April 18, 1971. He is the son of Sandy McDonald and Helen McDonald. He has two elder siblings. He studied at Ralston Primary and Paisley Grammar School. He graduated from Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He wanted to be an actor since he was a young kid.
He started his career with the play The Ressistable Rise of Arturo Ui. He also acted in a Scottish television drama Rab C Nesbitt. His first major role was in 1994 in the television series Takin' Over The Asylum.
Tennant moved to London and stayed with Arabella Weir and appeared in many productions with her. He got his first
big screen roles in the 1996 in Jude in which he acted like a drunk undergraduate. Tennant performed a few times in the Royal Shakespeare Academy and took many roles in different plays from 1996 to 1998. He also played the role of Romeo in the play Romeo and Juliet. He also appeared in shows in the Royal National Theater in London in 1995 and played various roles.
Tennant played his first television role in 2000 in the television series Reeves and Mortimer's. He also did a few ads in 2002. He started appearing in television much more in 2003 and 2004 with various roles in series like He Knew He Was Right, Casanova and many more. He also started appearing in films like starring in Bright Young Things in 2003. He applied for playing the role of Doctor in 2004 in the famous series Doctor Who but unfortunately he did not get it. Luckily, Eccleston who playing the role of the doctor announced he could not come back for another season so Tennant got the job to play as the Doctor in mid 2005. This series brought him huge success and he gained a lot of popularity. He played roles in many other films and television series as well.
