David Muir was born on November 8, 1973. He studied at Onondaga Junior-Senior High School in Nedrow. After school he went to Ithaca College in New York. He graduated in 1995 with a major in Arts. After graduation he went to Institute of Political Journalism at the fund of American studies which is affiliated with Georgetown University.
He started his career with WTVH television as an anchor and reporter. He filed many major reports from Jerusalem, Israel and the Gaza Strip. He followed the assassination of Prime Minister of Israel in 1995. The reports got him various honors from different associations and
press clubs. Muir was also voted as one of the best anchors and reporters by the readers.
Soon Muir joined the WCVB television in Boston. He continued his reporting and anchoring in this channel. He won awards while working with WCVB television like the Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting. He also won the National Headliner Award and the Associated Press honoured his work for tracing path of hijackers involved in September 11th attacks.
In 2003 Muir joined the ABC news channel. He worked as a reporter and then worked as a co-anchor in Prime Time since 2007. Including this he also worked as an anchor ABC World News Saturday since 2007 to 2010. Muir also reported for different ABC News broadcasts like broadcasting in 20/20, ABC World News and some others.
