Daphne Zuniga

Daphne Zuniga Daphne Zuniga (full name Daphne Eurydice Zuniga) was born on October 28, 1962 in Berkeley, California, USA. She is an American actress. Daphne Zuniga's height: 5' 8"/173 cm.

She is perhaps best known for playing Jo Reynolds on Melrose Place from 1992 to 1996.

Daphne Zuniga was also a lead in the 1987 film Spaceballs and the 1989 film Gross Anatomy, with Matthew Modine, and previously worked with Modine in the movie Vision Quest. A more recent starring role was in Artificial Lies. Daphne Zuniga was also one of many voice actors for the animated television series Stories from My Childhood. Daphne Zuniga also had a lead role in the TV series Pandora's Clock.

She spent a year studying with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Daphne Zuniga later attended the three year theater program at UCLA. Additionally, Zuniga spent four years studying with Larry Moss as well as studying with Peggy Feury at the Loft Studio.

In her spare time, Daphne Zuniga indulges in her passion for sculpting, painting and charcoal sketching. Daphne Zuniga is also a member of the E.C.O. (Environmental Communications Office) an environmental media based group. She currently resides in Los Angeles.

Daphne Zuniga is devoted to the conservation of our planet and "mercury awareness", having written articles for Oprah's O magazine and working with such organizations as the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) and Robert Kennedy Jr.'s Waterkeeper Alliance. Recently Daphne Zuniga has focused her efforts on environmental problems in Hispanic communities, where childhood asthma is an epidemic.

She enjoys meditation and is a supporter of Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California, and Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts.

Daphne Zuniga is the eldest daughter of a Unitarian minister mother, and a philosophy professor father.

Zuniga was a victim of Mercury poisoning, which was the direct result of her daily consumption of fish. As a result, the actress suffered from weak memory, headaches, crying spells, skin rashes and low grade depression. Since meeting with many doctors, Zuniga has stopped consuming fish and does not plan to resume anytime soon. Zuniga admits eating sushi 4 times a week prior to her Mercury poisoning problem. As part of her strategy to clean her body of Mercury, the actress drinks shakes rich in protein (specifically with glutathione).
