Dan Puric was born on February 12, 1959, in Bucharest, Romania. He is a Romanian actor.
Biography and Career :
He graduated the high school of Arts "Nicolae Tonitza" in Bucharest and after the "I.L.Caragiale" Institute of Cinematography and Theatral Arts in Bucharest. Dan Puric performed at the Theatre in Botosani between 1983- 1988. After that he was the employee of the National Theatre in Bucharest. He performed on stage in plays of Aristofan, Shakespeare, Goldoni, Chase, Harwoad, Marivaux, Gogol, Caragiale, Blaga, Urmuz, Eftimiu and C. Th. Popescu. At the same time he directed movies and commercials for television in Lausanue, Switzerland.
His attraction to the dumb shows came out on the stage of the theatre in Botosani and Bucharest in plays written by him. His plays w
ere acclaimed at the European Cultural Centre, but also in Viena, Novi Sad, Venice, Budapest, Lisbon, Phenian, New York, Chicago, Toronto and Montreal. The talented artist obtained the main part in a film by Maria Marek. Dan Puric was a member of a Asociation for Promoting Theatre Artists in Switzerland, being also delegated to educate the towns of French and English language in a program called "The Arts and Humanities as Agent of Social Change". He became shareholder of the National Theatre in Bucharest, winning the firs place for his entire activity at the Film Festival in Costinesti.
He also won the Golden Arena Award for Best One Man Dumb Show. The artist didn't stop here and won the Special Award at the Festival of Dumb Show at St. Croix, the Award in 1996 at Chicago Artist International Program, the Constantin Tanase Award at the Festival of Humor, the Award for Theatre and Dumb Show in 1997, the Uniter Award in 1999 , the Award for Performance in Non- Verbal Theatre, the Great Award of the Foundation- Anastasia in 2002, the Romanian National Award UNESCO for the Development of the Culture in 2003.
Dan Puric was given the Romanian Star Order in Cavalry in December 2004 and he became shareholder of honour of the National Theatre.
