Begg-Smith (birth name Dale Begg-Smith) was born on January 18, 1985 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and he is a Canada born Australian skier. It is hard to believe but he is the third Australian to win gold medal in this event in a Winter Olympics. He won the winter Olympic gold medal for Australia in 2006 Turin Winter Games. Begg-Smith was ranked number one and had won three World Cup rounds before coming to Winter Games.
Career and Biography:
As a teenager Begg-Smith was skiing for his native Canada but for some personal problems he and his brother Jason migrated to Australia at the age 15. They choose Australia so that they can get more flexibility for their respective works. For three years in the time of winter the brothers practised with the Australian team livin
g in Jindabyne. The brothers got Australian citizenship for the year 2003-04 and then were able to compete for Australia.
Begg-Smith has to go through some very tough times before going to win the honor. Alisa Monk, who was there to co-ordinate moguls program once said that she has booked Begg-Smith's hotels and flights economically even though he himself has lots of wealth he never complained. He has money but he never shows it off. He is such accommodating. His main tough time came when he faced the business crisis. It was reported in The Sydney Morning Herald that they have found Mr Begg-Smith's association in the distribution of "malware software" - Begg-Smith's manager told these to be exaggerated but he has faced those tough times until he wins moguls event in Winter Games 2006.
