Her mother is Italian and her parents met when her father, who worked in the Air Force, was in Brindisi, Italy. She spent her childhood in Providence, Rhode Island and attended the East Providence High School. After this, she went to Baldwin Wallace College in Ohio.
Claudia Jordan participated at Miss Rhode Island Teen USA in 1990 and won the title. After seven years, she won the Miss Rhode Island USA title and at the Miss USA 1997, she was one of the semi-finalists.
In the past, she had a relation with George Pogatsia who is an actor and now is involved with the U.S. Olympic sprinter, Maurice Greene.
