Christina was a born to a Sergeant in U.S. Navy and a Spanish teacher; Fausto Wagner Aguilera and Shelly Loraine. She was born in Staten Island, NYC. Christina had a troublesome childhood, her parents divorced and she lived with her mother. She accounts that her father was physically and mentally abusive.
Christina always dreamt of becoming a singer and she participated in many contests locally and was feared by her competitors as unbeatable. Christina attended school but for major part was home schooled. In 1990, she appeared first time on the national TV in Star Search program ran

Her first album was “Christina Aguilera” in 1999. The album was a huge success and is included in the Top 100 Albums of all Times. It also reached the peak of Billboard Top 200. She won the Grammy that year for Best New Artist.
In 2000, came Christina’s Spanish album “Mi Reflego”, The Album went for Gold in U.S. and topped the Latin charts. On Christmas, that year she released an album “My Kind of Christmas” which went Platinum in U.S.
In 2002 came Christina’s album “Stripped” which topped at number 2 on Billboard 200. It showed a more raunchy side to Christina’s singing. She also changed her image to a sexually provocative one.
In 2006 came Christina’s album “Back to Basics” which peaked at number 1 in thirteen countries along with U.K. and U.S.
In 2010 came Christina’s album “Biotic” after a long break, and was extremely acclaimed.
