Charles Gates Dawes (1865-1951) was an American Republican politician.
Short Biography:
In 1923 he was appointed by the Allied Reparations Commission president of he committee that produced the Dawes Plan, a $200 million loan that enabled Germany to pay enormous war debts after World War I.
Dawes was elected vice president of the USA 1924, received the Nobel Peace Prize 1925, and was ambassador to Britain 1929-1932.
