Chanelle Hayes was born in Cheshire, England on November 11, 1987. She was born to a prostitute who was killed when Hayes was just 4. Later she was adopted and raised Wakefield.
When Hayes was in college she auditioned for Big Brother and acted in the show's eight season which began on late May of 2007. She was also chosen the Favorite Housemate of that season.

Hayes was made the judge of VH1's show Wannabe: Spice Girls. In November 2008 she launched her own brand of perfume "Mwah". In 2008 she again performed in the VH1's Chanelle: Wannabe Popstar.
In 2008 May Chanelle released her debut single "I want It". The song took the 63rd place in UK singles chart.
