Ceca (real name Svetlana Ražnatovii¦) was born in June 14, 1973, in Zitorada, Toplica, Serbia. She had a flair for music from her childhood.

Biography and Career:

An inborn artist, Ceca gave her first public performance at the tender age of 5. By the time she was 14, she already had her debut hit, "Cvetak Zanovetak", up her sleeves. Ceca became quite famous with the release of this single. In late 1987, Ceca issued her debut album, titled "Cvetak Zanovetak".

Between 1989 and 1991, she released three new albums. The year 1993 saw the release of "Å ta je to u tvojim venama" which was highly accepted by the audience. That year she married Željko Ražnatovii¦ Arkan, a contradictory character. The rest of decade was still left and, thus, Ceca released the next hits "Nevaljala" and "Bruka". These tracks were on the Serbian charts for over 15 weeks. Apart from these, Caco also performed live at Pionir Hall, Belgrade, pulling huge number of spectators to the shows.

Sadly, her husband was murdered in January 2000 owing to some political warfares. She was very affected with her husband's murder and almost locked herself in her house for about a year.

In June 2001, Ceca played her comeback concert at Red Star stadium, Belgrade, to 70,000 fans. She also released the long expected album "Decenija" in late 2001.
In March 2003, Ceca was arrested on charges of illegal weapon possession at her home. She was accused of being a part of the gang behind the murder of the Serbian Prime Minister Zoran iini°ii¦ and many others known to her late husband. She was released of all charges after 121 days in prison out of which she had spent 30 days in solitary confinement. She is reluctant to talk about this matter any further.

Ceca made another comeback to music with her performances on the 2007 New Year Eve in Belgrade. She has also released two new albums, and another album, "Duet Ceca I Oliver Mandic" arrived in late 2008.

Why is she famous?

Ceca is famous is the most notable pop star of Serbia. She is also widow of Željko Ražnatovii¦, aka Arkan, a person often labeled as a criminal, who was murdered in 2000.
